Easter Island Souvenirs
The price of Easter Island souvenirs It is not exactly low and economical. The only thing that can be found, which is more or less cheap, is the typical souvenir that is a magnet, bookmarks, key chains or small moai that are not made of volcanic stone, but are made with a kind of stone / cement , which are much cheaper than those of volcanic stone, since it is practically depleted on the island and prices are much higher.
The same goes for all wood carvings. In Easter Island there is practically no wood, so the sizes you will find are quite expensive, especially if you look at the pieces of macavi, a very special way that grows only here in Polynesia and that it takes to become a bush of about 40 centimeters, which is what it takes to make the size, about 12-15 years. So you can get an idea of prices, right?
The carvings of this type of wood, for example a Kava Kava, can leave a piece of about 20-25 centimeters quietly from about 180000CLP to 650000CLP.
In jail you can find large pieces from about 50000CLP (no of macavi), a price that is about a third of the prices in Hanga Roa, although as you can guess, they do not have much assortment, so there is not much to choose from.
After the visit to the jail and seeing that the weather has no intention of improving, we approach Hanga Roa, to a cafeteria to have a drink, and later in the afternoon, return to the Hangaroa Eco Village Spa to spend the rest of the afternoon resting and taking advantage to work a while before dinner and end another day on the magical island, on Easter Island.
Since today has been a relaxing day and there is little to tell, we wanted to take the opportunity to leave you the routes that we believe are more valid to enjoy all the places what to see in Easter Island.
As we have commented in several moments of this trip to Chile and Easter Island, having an extra day in Rapa Nui is practically essential, both to rest and to know with tranquility all the most important places.
We, as you have seen, both by resting and by the time he has given us, in which we have had two rainy days, have had to modify the initial planning that we had, something for which having those extra days has resulted perfect, leaving the rainy days to rest and the days of good weather to make the visits.
We will take advantage of this day somewhat empty As for information, to leave here the routes we had planned, with their corresponding maps, so that if you are lucky enough to have good weather days, you can take them as an example.
